Yesterday lunch time, at about 12.20 I was driving home from work and saw, ahead of me, in the sky a strange phenomenon.
It was a very windy day, and the sort of climatic conditions that produce those white lines across the sky from aeroplanes. They quickly diffused into fuzzy curves as the wind teased them out of shape.
Then I saw what could only be described as a transparent dark grey lift shaft, straight as a die stretching from ground to sky. I thought it might be some sort of tornado, but these are cone shaped pointing downwards. This was a shaft of dark grey. Isn't that odd?
It didn't get diffused by the wind out of shape, but just slowly faded into nothing. I was going to take a photo of it, but was in the car and, well, just didn't. I could see people in cars coming the other way waving about a bit as they looked in their rear mirrors, and talking on the phone.
I can't have been the only one to notice, then!
I'm rather hoping it was a time warp, or a wormhole, or someone beaming Scotty up, or an access of some sort to somewhere else.
I'm not normally one for flights of fancy, or not concerning weird natural phenomena anyway, so what I saw was there, but I have no idea what it was.
Answers on a postcard please?
