Be a statistic

The Genographic Project is collecting DNA samples from 100,000 people in 1,000 targeted populations throughout the world to trace the migratory movements of peoples and their heritage. One guy in Tanzania, a member of the Hadzabe tribe can trace his ancesters back 60,000yrs. Imagine! And I thought people from Perpignan were parochial.

The general public are also invited to submit their DNA samples, but, not being part of specific targetted populations, we have to cough up $99.95 from the National Geographic web site. All proceeds go to participating indigenous populations.

Hurry hurry while stocks last!

  1. My family can trace our line 500 years back apparently..my uncle has an old family tree with him which keeps trace of the family line. Mind you I have been wanting to get a DNA test done because the roigins of my people are quite confused.

  2. Wow! It's pretty impressive to have such long-lasting record of your family. This kit seems to be just what you need as it is not just a commercial body, but part of a serious endeavour to enhance overall information about the human race.
