Look at this fantastic image from NASA that was published in The Times online. The whole of the UK can be seen under a blanket of snow!
Has such an image ever been seen before, I wonder. Possibly not as the UK has not had such severe weather since satellites started circling the Earth.
France has had some bad weather too although, for the moment, the south has been spared snow. How long though remains to be seen as Meteo France has given out a severe weather alert for our area for tonight and tomorrow. It's heading south and east which means the whole of the Mediterranean coast as far as the Var, and up to Lyon and the centre/eastern side of the country.
I'm so glad I'm not travelling anywhere in the next few days. Christmas was quite traumatic enough and the effect of the Eurostar disruptions will do me for some weeks yet.
Actually, I'm quite looking forward to having the garden covered in snow because it'll make it look nice and tidy - spruce things up from their distinctly messy state at present. The boys had been offering to tidy it up, having messed it up in the first place I might add, for dosh. I was strangely unmoved by their request. Come Spring (a nice long way off) I'll get in there and go through the place with a bin-bag or two and heed the call to the dump.
Until then, I'm sitting tight, staying warm and going nowhere. Snow, do your worst!
